Drs. Robert Anderson and Peter Moroz receive SSHRC connection grant
Congratulations to Co-Investigators Peter Moroz, Robert Anderson and Craig Hall with Kelly J. Lendsay on their successful Individual Indigenous Research Capacity and Reconciliation – SSHRC Connection Grant for $50,000 for their project entitled: Research Strategies for Corporate/Indigenous Engagements.
Summary: How might the study of corporate engagement with Indigenous business organizations tackle the grand societal challenge of reconciliation in Canada? In partnership with the University of Regina Hill and Levene Schools of Business, Indigenous Works, an Aboriginal organization working in the Canadian corporate partnership and labour development space will be exploring this question through this grant. This grant was awarded to Indigenous Works as one of the first Aboriginal certified SSHRC funds receiving institutions in Canada. The grant will fund a conference in Toronto focusing on the financial sector to explore how Aboriginal business organizations may better position themselves as potential succession candidates for entrepreneurs and small businesses who are looking to exit through transition strategies. A position paper will be formulated from out of these meetings and delivered at a SSHRC sponsored forum next year.
