Spotted Thunderbird Healer, 2010
Oil pigment on buffalo hide
96″ x 72″
University of Regina President’s Art Collection; pc.2012.12
The Spotted Thunderbird Healer is encircled by the circle of life which is held by a Thunderbird. Both the Thunderbird and the healer are the servants of the Creator, one helping the other. The healer has one foot in reality and one foot extending into the spirit world, as he walks in two worlds. All of this on top of a double-headed coyote which depicts that; no matter that it is a singularity, all is one with the universe. The seven white dots within the circle depict the pipe ceremonies of the healer.
