Kelly Hill (President, Hill Strategies Research, Inc., Hamilton, Ontario)is one of Canada’s foremost independent researcher with respect to the state of the arts sector. A fluently bilingual anglophone, Hill has become a sought-after resource person by artists, arts organizations, the media, governments, cultural planners, and other researchers. With a BA in Economics from the Universite Laval and an MA in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, Hill gained an understanding of the arts while working as the Research Manager at the Ontario Arts Council. Since founding Hill Strategies Research, he has had the opportunity to do research projects, talk to artists or arts organizations, give presentations, and conduct discussion group sessions from coast to coast and internationally. His monthly, on-line Arts Research Monitor is an invaluable resource for arts researchers across Canada and beyond. Thanks to support from Heritage Canada and the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance, he provided a detailed presentation on the State of the Arts in Saskatchewan as a kick off to the Saskatchewan Partnership for Arts Research and its Arts Ecology research in March of 2013.
