Dr. Lather‘s work examines various (post)critical, feminist, and poststructural theories, with a focus on the implications for qualitative inquiry with the call for scientifically-based research in education. In this lecture, she will sketch current conjunctures of qualitative research via memoir, genealogical mapping, and reflections on her empirical work. Dr. Lather will touch on field-forming framings, ruins of praxis, and theorizing of the incalculable subject.
At 7:00 p.m., Dr. Lather will be a presenter/provocateur with Dr. David Malloy, U of R, VP Research, and Dr. Michelle Stewart, U of R, Assistant Professor, Justice Studies, at a talkin’ about school and society discussion entitled, “The Messy Politics of Research,” La Bodega Restaurant-Upper Level/ Banquet Room, 2228 Albert St., Regina
