HomeWelcome to the official website for the Canadian Society for the Study of Comics (CSSC). Founded in October of 2010, the aim of CSSC is to promote the study of comics in Canada and, through communication and collaboration, to advance the field of comics studies overall. CSSC is a bilingual and multidisciplinary organization committed to approaching the comics field from a wide variety of cultural and theoretical vantage points. CSSC will be hosting its first conference in May of 2011 as part of the New Narrative conference to be held at the University of Toronto. As the society continues to evolve, our mandate also includes the creation of an academic journal devoted to comics studies in Canada. **This site is under construction -- please bear with us! |
