Understanding the Arts Ecology of Saskatchewan from the Artist’s Perspective: An Overview of Results from the Artist Survey of 2014 (released March 2015)
This was the first comprehensive survey of artists across the spectrum of the arts in Saskatchewan. The artist survey and a parallel survey of the public were conducted between April and May of 2014. They were the first stages in a 4 year study of the provincial arts ecology which seeks to better understand the working conditions of artists and the health and sustainability of the connections and networks they form.
Understanding the Arts Ecology of Saskatchewan From the Grassroots Results of the SPAR Survey of the Public, May 2014(released May 2015)
This survey of the Saskatchewan public ran parallel to the SPAR survey of artists across the spectrum of the arts in Saskatchewan conducted between April and May of 2014. Respondents to the public survey placed high importance on the arts and artists as contributors to things such as education, the formation of individual values and beliefs, social cohesiveness and the health and welfare of communities.
Reports on SPAR Artist Survey Data, No. 3: Indigenous Respondents (released August 2015)
This report is a supplement to SPAR’s initial report. It summarizes responses to the Artist Survey by individuals who identified themselves as an “aboriginal person (First Nations, North American Indian, Métis or Inuit)” in comparison with the responses of all other respondents. Includes Data Summary and Topics for Further Inquiry.
These responses are not presented as being representative of the general population of artists in Saskatchewan who identify as Aboriginal. See the Process and Methodology section at the end of this report for further explanation of this point.
