SSHRC Insight Grant

The SSHRC Insight Grants provides up to $500,000 over 3 to 5 years to build knowledge and understanding about people, societies and the world by supporting research in its initial stages, in all subject areas eligible for funding from SSHRC. Information is at: http://www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca/funding-financement/programs-programmes/insight_grants-subventions_savoir-eng.aspx

** Notice of Intent (NOI) **
A mandatory NOI must be submitted directly by applicant to SSHRC via the online system by August 15. An applicant who has not submitted the NOI by this date will be ineligible to submit the full application in the October 2014 competition. The form will be available in late June or early July at the above site.

In addition to basic information, applicants submit a one-page Summary of Proposed Research which will include research objectives, proposed methodology, the anticipated significance and impacts of the proposed research. This NOI is used for planning and to establish review committees, and will not be used in the evaluation of the full application. Applicants are permitted to amend their proposal between the NOI and the full application stage.

A full Insight Grant application with instructions will be created for all applicants who have submitted the NOI. This will be available in mid-July for applicants submitting the NOI prior to the deadline. The application procedures will be the same as those used in 2013. Instructions from last year’s application can be found at: http://www.uregina.ca/research/Research_Funding/SSHRC.shtml .
