The University of Regina Turns 50

U of R 50th Anniversary LogoWe’re Inviting You To Join The Celebration!

July 1, 2024, marked our 50th Anniversary and a year of celebration as an independent university (although our roots as Regina College date back more than a century!). Today’s U of R, along with our federated colleges – Campion College, Luther College, and First Nations University of Canada - offers world-class, post-secondary education to more than 17,200 students and, with more than 92,000 alumni, our graduates are making a positive difference in Saskatchewan and around the world.

We’re marking this historic anniversary with a special 50th Anniversary Info Hub that celebrates the University’s history of groundbreaking research, student success, and our commitment to our community with interactive articles and the chance for you to share your own memories.

And be sure to check out the 50th Anniversary Events Calendar. We have lined up events and activities to celebrate throughout the year and you’re invited.

Let’s go far, together.

Stay Well, Together.

We believe that to be truly successful, one must be healthy in all ways.

Our commitment to health and well-being is demonstrated through the programs we teach, the research we conduct, and the supports we offer. We understand that wellness encompasses physical, mental, environmental, and spiritual well-being, and provide opportunities for our students to find fulfillment in all ways. We are committed to building a healthier future, which we demonstrate through our nationally recognized wellness programming and world class research.

At the U of R, we’re with you every step of the way.

Strengthening Connections

Honouring the Past, Together

The University of Regina and its federated colleges are on Treaty 4 and Treaty 6 —  the territories of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda peoples, and the homeland of the Michif/Métis nation.

We recognize that, as an institution founded by settlers, we benefit from being on this land. We are grateful for the privilege to learn, teach, and work here. We demonstrate our commitment to reconciliation by incorporating Indigenous knowledge and world views in our research, teaching, and studies to ensure that there are increased economic, social, and creative opportunities for current and future generations. It is our responsibility to strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities and build a more inclusive future.
