Wondering how a play works?
How to lay out dialogue?
Here is a short play by Yvette Nolan. It's 6 pages long, about 1300 words, and reads at ten minutes.
Print it off, read it out loud with a friend. (Some of you whose classes Yvette has visited have already heard it out loud).
Think about these questions:
Who is Donne? What does he want and why can't he get it?
Who is Max? What does he want and why can't he get it?
What is the play about?
Not just the plot, but the theme. The lesson, if you will, the moral of the story?
