The Yukon Native Education Program based in Whitehorse is seeking a full-time co-ordinator.

TIRF’s Doctoral Dissertaton Grants in Canada

TIRF — The International Research Foundation for English Language Education – is pleased to announce its 2014 Doctoral Dissertation Grants competition. Grants of up to US $5,000 will be made to successful applicants investigating any of the following topics:

·Bilingualism or Plurilingualism in Business, Industry, and the Professions
·Language Assessment
·Optimal Uses of Technology in the Delivery of English Language Instruction
·Language Teacher Education
·Students’ Age and Effective English Language Education in Schools
·Language Policy and Planning

Applicants must be enrolled in a legitimate doctoral program and must have been advanced to candidacy. (That is, they must have completed any required coursework and/or examinations, and must have had their research plan official approved by the university.)

Call for expression of interest for First Nations Métis Inuit (FNMI) Research Showcase

The University of Regina and First Nations University of Canada are pleased to invite you to present at
our inaugural First Nations, Métis and Inuit Research Showcase to be held March 24 – 28, 2014.

Our dream is to:
Showcase the diversity of First Nations, Métis and Inuit scholarship and research
Recognize the public intellectuals in our community including Elders, and traditional knowledge
keepers
Offer different kinds of presentations, performances, book launches, readings and experiences
Offer sessions in a variety of locations throughout the city of Regina including restaurants,
schools, libraries, etc
Include participation from a variety of groups beyond the academy
We seek:
A statement of commitment to present/facilitate a session. Please include a title for your
session, approximate length of time, AV needs, and a suggested location in the city of Regina
We will schedule the sessions and book the venues. For additional information or questions, please

2nd Annual TPC Poetry Slam – February 25, 2014

The Faculty of Education invites faculty and students from the University community including First Nations University of Canada, SUNTEP, Campus For All, and Campion and Luther Colleges to submit an original poem for the 2nd Annual Teaching Preparation Centre Poetry Slam scheduled for:

Room 228, Education Building
(Teaching Preparation Centre – TPC)
12:00 – 1:30 p.m.

Please e-mail your poem to Marie.Bidd@uregina.ca by February 20, 2014; be sure to include your name (as you would like it to appear on the program), your Faculty and your contact e-mail address.

Poetry will be judged by a panel of judges at the Poetry Slam and prizes awarded. All poetry submissions will be on Exhibit in the Teaching Preparation Centre for the month of April – National Poetry Month and/or appear on the Faculty of Education TPC website.

The University community is invited to attend to support the poets at this event.
