Kelly Chessie was awarded a Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) valued at $35,000 per annum for 3 years.

Elizabeth Brass will be displaying a poster presentation entitled "Empowerment and Wellness of Aboriginal Elders" at the Canadian Psychological Association Conference in Calgary this June.

Kori Fisher and Brandy Winquist have been selected to attend the 2006 CIHR Summer Institute in Winnipeg, MB. The topic of this year’s Institute is "Using population-based health and health services data for research: challenges and opportunities in an intersectoral environment."

Gloria DeSantis has been awarded a Douglas-Coldwell Foundation Scholarship in Social Affairs. This $3,000 award is granted annually to a full-time graduate student preparing a thesis on a topic involving some aspect of Canadian social theory or history.
